Exterior & Landscaping

A well designed landscape allows your family to enjoy a variety of activities. An example of a multifunctional yard/garden may include: play spaces for children; gardening area for the family gardener; a patio with a cooking area for entertaining and relaxing, and, a garden pond for quiet contemplation.

Attractive gardens are not designed to a rigid formula, and there is always room for individual interpretation – and even eccentricity. Some gardens are designed to shock; some are traditional in concept; a few are strictly formal and many are a compromise between formality and informality. However, ultimately, the picture your landscape creates is a reflection of who you are and what you like and it must please you personally.

Design does not become easier with decreasing size; it becomes more difficult and demanding. However, this should not deter you from having a cozy outdoor to relax and entertain friends in. As the illustrations in this website show, you can still make a big impact with a small garden. For example, whether you have a garden on a rooftop, or you have a fairly small garden (for eg : 22ft by 10 ft), we offer you plenty of ideas and solutions, some of which require only minor modifications to your existing garden. In a small garden, there is always the temptation to try to cram in many more features than there is really space for. Therefore, keep the design simple, stick to a style and do consider some ideas we have suggested here to make your small space cozy.

However, if you have a large sprawling outdoor space, you may want to make it more intimate, or break the space into separate activity areas. For example, water gardens and other water elements are one of the most popular ways to create a special spot within a landscape. With new materials and building techniques a pond can be built on whatever scale for a reasonable cost.

Garden Ornaments

They set a tone for the garden; be it serious or frivolous, classic or modern, or even with a touch of humour , they reveal the personality of the garden maker.

Lighting

The purpose of lighting in your landscape is to illuminate and or serve as a safety feature. However, it also adds as an artistic touch and an element of mystery, magic and romance. You may want to highlight an attractive feature, for example, a certain plant, a statue, fountain or walkways. You really don’t need elaborate mains lighting. Low-voltage lighting supplied from a transformer indoors is perfectly adequate, especially for most lighting jobs in a small garden.
